Rachel Webb stars as “Brenda” in Smokey Joe’s Café at Casa Mañana this October 30 – November 7. Originally from De Soto, TX, we are thrilled to have her in Fort Worth for this phenomenal show!
Her career in acting began by taking classes with a summer intensive during grade school. The intensive culminated with her first musical, Beauty and the Beast Jr. “I caught the musical theatre bug by my senior year of high school. I now have a BFA in Musical Theatre!”
Her most challenging role to date is “Ariel” in The Tempest. “Shakespearean text is so difficult. It was my first Shakespeare play, and there were SO many monologues. Super fun, though!”
When asked about what inspires her daily, she says, “Whitney Houston and Only Whitney Houston. WWWD? (What Would Whitney Do?).”
While preparing for Smokey Joe’s Café opening night this Saturday, Rachel has enjoyed the music and band rehearsals. “I’m a music theory nerd, so I’m like a kid in a candy store.” Keep your ears open for her favorite number – “Fools Fall in Love Reprise.”
