Internship Opportunities

Our Department of Education accepts interns year-round for a variety of programs. With teaching artist opportunities during the school year to counselor positions in the summer, our program teaches and shapes leaders in the arts. With over half a century of experience in theatre education, Casa Mañana Studios is proud to provide such an opportunity under one of the most recognized professional theatres in Texas.

Camp Casa Counselor – Madagascar Jr.

June 20 – July 8

No camp July 4, Performances July 8-10

Camp Casa is a three-week summer camp for students ages 8-14. All experience and skill levels are welcomed. In addition to rehearsing and producing a full-length show, campers will take acting, music, and dance classes.

Interns will:

  • Receive a stipend of $250/session
  • Work 8:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • Be present at all performances
  • Serve as camp counselors and backstage crew during performances
  • Obtain leadership roles as head counselors
  • Oversee a team of counselors-in-training
  • Learn about all aspects of theatre education
  • Develop industry-level skills

A qualified intern must:

  • Be at least 18-years-old
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program or have graduated in the last two years.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have experience and enthusiasm for working with youth
  • Understand the theatrical environment at any level


Camp Casa Jr. Counselor

Small But Mighty – June 6-10

Bad to the Bone – June 13-17

Move it! Move it! – August 8-12

All Abilities – August 8-12

Through movement and imagination, campers ages 4-8 will explore musical theatre themes. Seasoned theatre professionals will help develop fundamental skills in a fun, no-pressure environment.

Interns will:

  • Receive a stipend of $125/session
  • Work 8:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m., Monday-Friday (leading all three sessions is not required)
  • Serve as head counselors
  • Coordinate with instructors on class exercises, rehearsals and projects
  • Assist with student drop off/pick up
  • Learn about all aspects of theatre education
  • Develop industry-level skills

A qualified intern must:

  • Be at least 18-years-old
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program or have graduated in the last two years
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have experience and enthusiasm for working with youth
  • Understand the theatrical environment at any level

  • Coordinate with head counselors on class exercises, rehearsals and projects
  • Learn more about theatre and team leadership
  • Assist with student drop off/pick up
  • Model professional behavior
  • Be mentored by a wide array of theatre professionals
  • Develop industry-level skills

A qualified intern would:

  • Be enrolled in middle or high school
  • Possess enthusiasm for working with youth
  • Be interested in learning more about theatre and production
