Matt Allen returns to Casa Mañana as “Hipockets Duncan” in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. Originally from Jerseyville, IL, Matt got his start in acting in the 7th grade. Dance classes landed him a role in West Side Story his freshmen year of high school, and he’s been hooked ever since!
When asked about his “big break” Matt replied, “I broke my thumb this summer and had to have 3 screws to reattach it to my hand…” He carries this cheeky humor into a few of his characters in the show.
Due to the amount of music in Buddy, it was only natural to mention his favorite genre – 70s classic rock, “Most of that music was heavily influenced by the one and only Buddy Holly.”

In preparation for places, Matt normally does a physical warm-up, says a few of his opening lines out loud and plays a few notes on his trumpet. Of course, all of that in addition to checking his props and costumes. “Take a deep breath… and rock n’ roll!”
Don’t miss your chance to see Matt on stage, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story running thru September 15. Get your tickets here: http://bit.ly/2Y7HsEU.
