Kaylene Snarsky returns to Casa Mañana as part of the ensemble in Annie, Nov. 2-10. We are so excited to have her back under the Dome!
Her recent credits include “Cassie” in A Chorus Line, the national tour of Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and Rock of Ages, Hello, Dolly! and Mamma Mia!.
Kaylene made her musical theatre debut in the 4th grade as “Maleficent” in Sleeping Beauty at an after-school club. However, she began dancing much earlier, at the age of 3.”[I] grew up with a singing mother, so over the years my undeniable passion for performance blossomed from Nutcrackers at Christmas and recitals in the spring, to a full-fledged career.” We are so glad that show-business runs in her family.
While it’s hard to pick a favorite musical, hers is A Chorus Line. “I think this show candidly reveals the life of an ensemble member. The people you see on stage jump through many hoops to get there and this is the first piece that has shown an audience that struggle, passion and level of vulnerability.”
Kaylene’s advice to aspiring actors is this, “Take up space, be YOU and never apologize. If you want to do this, put in the work to get to know yourself and who you want to be in this career versus what others might want you to be. When you find self-love and self-confidence is when you can truly put your whole heart and soul into what you do.”
