Josie Todd is thrilled to make her Casa Mañana debut as “Annie.” It’s not her first time to star in the classic musical, however. At the young age of 3, she was cast as a little orphan in a production her aunt directed, “I was hooked and knew I loved the stage.” In her regional debut as “Opal” in Because of Winn Dixie, Josie met and worked with co-star “Bowdie,” one of Berloni Theatrical Animals’ many stars. She will have another chance to work with Berloni Animals in Annie, with Macy, our “Sandy.”
Josie already has spectacular roles like “Gracie Shinn” in The Music Man and “Chip” in Beauty & the Beast under her belt. To prepare for roles like these, she usually dances and warms up her voice to calm any pre-show jitters. She relates to “Annie,” “I like to be optimistic and see the bright side of things, much like Annie does.”
While Annie is a great musical, Josie’s favorite is Mean Girls. “Kate Rockwell is my favorite Broadway actress. I got to meet her when I was rehearsing in NYC for Because of Winn Dixie. She surprised me on my birthday and brought me a cupcake. It changed my life.”
Her advice to aspiring young actors – “Never give up and just go for it. I have been dreaming of playing “Annie” since the age of 3, and I finally get to do it at Casa Mañana!”

Todd Family pet “Goldie”
Josie has her own “Sandy” at home – an 11-year-old Golden Retriever, Goldie. “She is the heart of our household. She is the most loyal, sweetest and loving dog in the world.” But, there is more than one important four-legged friend in her life. Bowdie, her first four-legged co-star, holds a special place in her heart.
