CAMP CASA INTERNSHIP

Casa Mañana’s Department of Education and Theatre for Youth is now accepting applications for 2021 summer camp internships. Casa Mañana Theatre is a professional regional theatre in Fort Worth, TX with a 63-year record of excellence in theatre education.

Camp Casa Interns receive a weekly stipend of $200.

Camp Jr Interns receive a per-camp stipend of $100.

Interns act as head counselors and lead a team of middle and high school counselors in training.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The final deadline to apply is May 7, 2021.

 

CAMP DESCRIPTIONS AND DATES

Camp Casa Jr.

  • For ages 4 to 8. Campers will learn creative expression using voice, body and imagination, in a fun, no-pressure environment, with classes taught by seasoned theatre and education professionals. In addition, campers will work on theatre crafts to bring home with them at the end of camp. Each week-long session will feature songs, scenes and crafts inspired by popular children’s books. Campers perform their songs and scenes at the end of the week for the families and friends in the Casa Mañana Rehearsal Studios.
  • 3, week-long sessions, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. – 4:30p.m., Monday-Friday
  • Leading all 3 sessions is not required.
  • Interns act as head counselors.

Session #1 – June 21-25 (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Week)

  • 9 am – 12 pm MORNING CAMP
  • 1 pm – 4 pm AFTERNOON CAMP

Session #2 – August 9-13 (Frog and Toad Week)

  • 9 am – 12 pm morning camp ONLY

Camp Casa

  • 2 two-week summer camps for students ages 8-14 of all skill levels to come and participate in professional musical theatre training. Best of all, every registered camper will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform in a fully produced musical on Casa’s main stage.
  • Interns act as summer camp counselors as well as backstage crew during performances.
  • Leading both sessions is not required

(two-week camp, Mondays-Fridays, weekend performances)

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or have graduated in the last two years. Interns must have local housing and transportation. Experience working with youth is required, and theatrical experience is preferred.


CAMP CASA COUNSELOR IN TRAINING

  • Middle or High School students with performance experience who enjoy leading and want to learn more.
  • CITs act as assistants to head counselors in leading a team of students throughout camp.
  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The final deadline to apply is May 7, 2021.
