CREATIVE ADVENTURES

The perfect class for young performers ready to explore the magic of theatre! Students will learn storytelling, acting, singing, and movement. Students showcase their new skills in a final performance on the Mainstage.
ACTING
Acting 1
Through theatre exercises, improvisation, monologue work, and scene study, students will develop skills in character creation, vocal expression, physicality, and storytelling. Acting I encourages creativity and collaboration as young actors build a foundation in performance.
Acting 2
Acting 2 is for students with some experience and familiarity with the basics of acting. Dive deeper into fundamentals, improvisation, physicality, and more.
PLEASE NOTE: You may only take this class if you have done one of the following: taken Acting 1 or Acting 2 (Grades 4-6) for one year at CMSMT, taken a year-long acting class elsewhere, or performed in 3 or more productions.
ACTING 3

We’re putting on a play! In this class, students will utilize their acting skills to put on a One-Act play at the end of each semester. Students will learn how to work with their peers, create their character, and much more.

BROADWAY DANCE

Explore the foundations of musical theatre dance in this engaging class! Students will learn basic dance vocabulary, develop physicality and coordination, and experience a variety of musical theatre dance styles while building confidence and performance skills.
BROADWAY DANCE II

Students will expand their dance vocabulary, refine coordination and control, and explore more complex combinations across a variety of Broadway-style genres. Dancers will continue to grow their confidence while developing stronger technique and stage presence.
PLEASE NOTE: You may only take this class if you have done one of the following: taken Broadway Dance for one year at CMSMT or taken a dance class elsewhere for at least one year.
INTERMEDIATE DANCE

BALLET
Ballet is the foundation of many dance styles and helps dancers build strength, grace, and coordination. In this class, students will learn the basic positions, steps, and vocabulary of ballet while focusing on proper form, posture, and alignment.
THEATRE FOR HOMESCHOOLERS
CREATIVE DRAMATICS
In this playful and imaginative class, young performers explore the world of theatre through games, storytelling, movement, and creative expression. Students will build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills while bringing characters and stories to life on stage.

VOICE

Through a combination of functional vocal exercises, song interpretation, and performance-based activities, students will discover their unique voice while building confidence and stage presence. Explore breath control, healthy vocal production, and physical flexibility to enhance overall artistry.

APPRENTICE COMPANY

The Apprentice Company Spotlight Class is a year-long, process-based course that focuses on both technique and performance. Our professional teaching artists will instruct students through workshops focused on acting, dance, and voice technique. Throughout the semester students will also have the chance to learn from guest instructors — industry professionals who are actively working in the field. At the end of each semester, students demonstrate their skills on the Mainstage at our Spotlight Showcase.
Enrollment in the Apprentice Company Spotlight Class also includes the opportunity to attend Masterclasses taught by visiting performers.
Apprentice Company students receive special consideration for Casa Mañana Mainstage productions. Please Note: Enrollment in the class does not guarantee casting in the annual Apprentice Program Production.
