Winter Workshop Series: Musical Theatre Showcase (Grades 4-9)

Description: In this 6 week class, instructors will work with students on how to find songs and monologues that both match and challenge them. They will also learn how to prepare their selections for a performance or audition. This class is a great way to find a new song or monologue to have ready for the next big audition or to add to your repertoire.

Description: In Act Out, students will create their own original play every week to share with an audience at the end of each class. Each class begins with a warm-up and then jumps right into compiling our five sentences to tell our story with a beginning, middle, and end. We rehearse up until it is time to perform at the end of class. In this class, students will:
– get to act out their ideas
– get to perform for an actual audience every class.
– get experience with the rehearsal process.
– get used to the fast paced director/actor relationship and be forced to make quick decisions along with taking risks.
– have fun acting in a tiny play without the pressure of memorizing lots of lines.
– understand the principles of storytelling.

Broadway Dance 3 (Grades 5+)

Description: Requires instructor approval. Students will focus on strengthening technique, building endurance and flexibility in this advanced musical theater/jazz style class.

Description: This class that focuses on the “triple threat” skills of acting, singing, and dancing is open to students with special needs who are in K-6th grade. Students who have an interest in the creative arts will have the opportunity to benefit from an environment created for them in which they can learn, grow and explore their talents.
