REPORTS TO: Production Manager, Production Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager

HOURS: Based on theatre’s weekly rehearsal and performance schedule.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: Assist the Stage Management team and coordinate the running and storage of properties and scenic elements during rehearsals and performances of assigned production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the taping out of the ground plan and any pre-production paperwork.
  • Generate all appropriate props paperwork, such as preset lists and running documents.
  • Set up and strike necessary props and scenic elements during rehearsals.
  • Take detailed notes of any issues with the props and notify the Stage Management team.
  • Supervise and maintain proper storage and cleanliness of all props and scenery during and after every rehearsal and performance.
  • Assist in the creation of scene shift sheets and running documents.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of prop shifts and verify that shifts have been completed safely and correctly.
  • Ensure all props are returned to the appropriate place or person at changeovers and strikes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous professional backstage experience in theatre required.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, efficiency, multi-tasking, and ability to prioritize and self-motivate.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and see a task out to completion.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a positive team member.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to work long shifts and overtime hours while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.
  • Demonstrate behavior showing a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Perform work in a manner that is consistent with that commitment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

The Casa Mañana School for Musical Theatre (CMSMT) wants to connect with teacher-artists of all types for consideration for current and future contract teaching positions. We are expanding our network of potential teachers with 4 major goals in mind:

  • Providing opportunities for North Texas teacher-artists to explore their craft

ABOUT US
At CMSMT, we offer education and performance opportunities for students from Pre-K to college. Students learn listening and communication, teamwork, critical and creative thinking, self-advocacy, and other abilities through the exploration of musical theatre’s foundational skills: acting, singing, dancing.

In the future, we will offer more opportunities for students to explore the range of what it means to be a theatre artist, including playwriting, content creation, songwriting, production skills like lighting and set design, and other aspects of the performing arts.

REPORTS TO: House Manager

OBJECTIVE: Provide excellent customer service and maintain a smooth operation of the bar and merchandise areas. Work in a fun environment.

HOURS: Evening and Weekend hours based on weekly theatre schedule, not to exceed 40 hrs per week without prior approval.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Ensure that operations run smoothly for patrons who attend the theatre
  • Be TABC licensed and maintain all guidelines according to TABC
  • Help managers maintain inventory
  • Stock bar and merchandise
  • Take payments through Square and give correct change to patrons
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as requested
  • Table service experience a plus

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent, some college

SKILLS:

  • Friendly attitude
  • Strong verbal
  • Organizational
  • Communication

EXPERIENCE: Customer service, Bartending experience, cashier experience a plus.
