Casa Mañana's Educational Programs enrich the lives of thousands of youth and adults and promote the growth of the performing arts throughout North Texas.
Founded in 1962, Casa Mañana's nationally-recognized Theatre School is one of the largest professional acting schools in the country, conducting classes year-round for youth and adults at Casa Mañana Theatre. Our curriculum is uniquely designed to develop and improve concentration, voice, speech, body movement, observational skills and imagination. Casa Mañana demonstrates its commitment to excellence by employing a professional staff of performing arts educators. We encourage artists to explore all facets of the discipline. By participating in the collaborative process of creating live theatre, students discover their unique talents and develop a true passion for the performing arts. Our goal is to teach a professional theatrical discipline and offer students a fun, safe and nurturing environment.
In the Summer, Camp Casa extends the daily instruction of the classroom to the stage. This exciting educational experience blends the magic of performing live on stage at Casa Mañana Theatre with the opportunity to work alongside theatre professionals who guide Camp Casa students through the many disciplines of the performing arts. From the first audition to the final curtain call, Camp Casa is three weeks of learning, laughing and sharing your talents.
And proudly, The Betty Lynn Buckley Awards, named in honor of Fort Worth’s own Tony award-winning actress Betty Lynn Buckley, celebrates excellence in musical theatre production among participating Tarrant County high schools. All Tarrant County high schools that produce a musical are eligible to participate in the program. A panel of distinguished judges critiques each production and votes for winners in 16 award categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Musical. Once the judges votes are tabulated, the results are kept secret until the winners are announced at a special Awards Ceremony at Casa Mañana Theatre.
All of Casa Mañana's Educational Programs are supported through generous, tax-deductible donations to the Annual Campaign. For more information, email Valerie Galloway-Chapa, Director of Education and Outreach, or call 817-321-5041.
